About Joanne Grant

Joanne Grant has been working as a portrait photographer for 10 years. She studied Photography as part of a Communications Degree at DCU although her first full time work was in advertising. She has also worked as a photographic printer, a graphic designer and an interior designer.

Joanne now works from home as a full time photographer, and has won numerous Gold and Silver IPPA (Irish Professional Photographers Assoc.) awards.

In 2002 she was crowned Royal Sun Alliance & IPPA Portrait Photographer of the Year, and in October 2004 won a place in the Fuji Masterpiece Collection for excellence in portraiture a series of 20 images that tour the country for a year.

Friendly, informal and relaxed is the best way to describe Joanne’s approach to photography. Her photographs are never rushed, but by keeping the photography aspect as flexible and light-hearted as possible, Joanne captures images that reflect the essences of childhood innocence, the love of family and the creative aspect of theatre.

"I love my work with children and families. I cherish my time photographing kids; they bring out the child in me and thus inspire me to capture them at their best."

Although portrait photography is her speciality, Joanne regularly creates commissioned pieces of artwork for her clients.
